Job summary

Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources is seeking an individual to assist the Park Supervisor in operating the Twin Lakes Regional Sports Complex and nearby athletic fields, guiding and coordinating Trades Workers in ballfield and artificial turf maintenance, and assisting in coordination of events.

You will train new staff, oversee routine maintenance, keep records, complete work orders, and help ensure park safety; this role includes supervising in the Park Supervisor's

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; one year experience in athletic grounds maintenance.
• Valid Florida driver’s license by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision of Trades Workers in Park Supervisor's absence.
• Coordinate equipment assignments and supplies; provide subordinate instructions.
• Assist with special events; liaise with event coordinators and managers.
• Perform ballfield and site maintenance duties.
• Operate light automotive equipment and turf maintenance equipment.
• Follow and complete maintenance schedules and records.
• Maintain operating records, supply requests, and complete work orders.
• Participate in quality inspections of the complex.
• Ensure ground safety by inspecting irrigation leaks and landscaping issues.
• Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation.
• Oversee audits and ensure controls are established.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one year athletic grounds maintenance experience
