Job summary

Emerson College seeks an entrepreneurial sports industry leader and/or scholar to join its Sports Communication program in the Department of Communication Studies in Boston. The appointment begins August 19, 2027, with orientation on August 19–20.

The successful candidate will teach and mentor students, collaborate across the college to build a premier interdisciplinary academic center, and engage with local and national sports organizations for experiential learning and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher preferred in communication or related field.
• Bachelor's degree required with at least 10 years of experience.
• Distinguished leadership or scholarship record in sports industry preferred.
• Prior classroom teaching and interdisciplinary curriculum development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students in the Sports Communication program.
• Collaborate with faculty and college leaders to build interdisciplinary center.
• Develop experiential learning and partnerships with local, national and global sports organizations.
