Job summary

Spymca is seeking a part-time dance instructor to lead summer programming for kids from age 3 through elementary school. You will teach fundamentals of dance, choreograph basics, and foster positive growth and enjoyment of dance. Prepare classes and ensure a safe, supportive environment.

The role emphasizes energetic engagement with children, strong communication with parents, and adherence to YMCA values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dance skills and safety awareness are required.
• Personal experience in dance, background in Y philosophy and experience coaching are beneficial.
• Must be energetic and enjoy working with kids in a fun and fast-paced environment.
• Must be sensitive to the needs of individuals and have the ability to build rapport with participants and parents.
• Self-confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to enforce good behavior, consistently and calmly.
• Must possess a spirit of positivity and exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.
