Job summary

The YMCA of Columbus is seeking a Youth Dance Instructor to inspire a love of dance in children aged 4-12, delivering engaging instruction and promoting creativity in a safe, fun environment.

This part-time role requires certification within 60 days (CPR, AED, First Aid), ability to relate to diverse youth, and prior instructional experience.

Qualifications

• > Must be at least 16 years old and have experience participating in the area of instruction; previous experience instructing preferred.
• < Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification must be obtained within the first 60 days
• < Passionate belief in the Y's cause and ability to relate effectively to diverse groups
• < Ability to relate to diverse groups from all social and economic backgrounds

Description

The YMCA is seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated Youth Dance Instructor to join our team. This role is focused on inspiring a love of dance in children by providing engaging instruction, promoting creativity and teamwork, and ensuring a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include planning and leading age-appropriate dance classes for youth ages 4-12, teaching fundamental dance skills and techniques, demonstrating movements and routines, and encouraging participant confidence, growth, and self-expression. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in dance, previous teaching or instructional experience, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children.
