Job summary

True Sports Physical Therapy in Baltimore, MD seeks a Sports Clinic Director & Physical Therapist to ensure optimal clinic function through effective staff and patient management. You will lead day-to-day operations, supervise staff, and drive policy development, budgeting, and referrals.

The role requires a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, 2+ years PT experience in sports rehab, 6–12 months leadership, Maryland licensure or compact privileges, and a specialist certification or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist with sports rehab background.
  • 6–12 months of leadership experience.
  • Ability to obtain Maryland license or PT compact privileges.
  • Current Maryland PT license or ability to obtain one.
  • One approved specialist or advanced certification.
  • Certificates should include PT, CSCS, PES, ATC, USAW, SCS, OCS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day clinic operations with focus on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Supervise assigned clinic(s) per policy; onboard, plan, assign and direct work.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures; manage budget and supplies.
  • Generate external patient referrals and coordinate with staff PTs for care.
  • Onboard, train, mentor, and coach new staff PTs.
  • Conduct in-services and continuing education sessions for clinic/team.
  • Organize community events and partnerships with schools, clubs, and fitness facilities.
  • Host clinical students and facilitate learning experiences.
  • Continue to provide direct PT services and develop treatment plans for clients.

Sports Clinic Director & Physical Therapist
Department: Clinical

Reports To: Regional Director
Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Clinic Director is to ensure optimal clinic function through effective staff and patient management.

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring a high standard of patient care and satisfaction throughout the clinic to maintain and advance optimal clinic function
  • Collaborate with the management team to: develop and implement clinical policies and procedures; manage clinic budget, supplies and needs
  • Produce a majority of external patient referrals and facilitate the introduction of other staff PTs for these patients' care
  • Lead and manage new Staff PT onboarding to effectively train, mentor and coach new staff PTs and ensure effective company and clinic onboarding
  • Conduct in-services over continuing education courses for clinic and/or company
  • Organize and participate in community, schools, clubs, fitness facilities, etc., events
  • Host a minimum of one clinical student and additional students as available
  • Continue to operate in the physical therapist capacity for own therapy clients; including but not limited to conducting assessments and developing treatment plans, implementing optimal therapeutic techniques with clients, and educating clients on self-management strategies
  • Ensure timely, accurate and up-to-date billing and documentation for patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes for self and all staff
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and clinic throughout the day

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Clinic Director is required to supervise their assigned clinic(s) in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include onboarding employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems as they relate to these employees.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy
  • 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist, with a strong background in sports rehabilitation.
  • 6-12 months of leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain a Maryland license or PT compact privileges
  • Current and active Physical Therapist license in the state of Maryland, or the ability to obtain one.
  • One approved specialist or advanced certification
  • Certifications should include: PT, CSCS, PES, ATC, USAW, SCS, OCS, Cert DN
Compensation Structure
  • $90–100K, based on experience and number of PTs managed
  • Bonus opportunities available
