Job summary

Austin Country Club is seeking a part-time Sports Center Attendant in Austin, TX. You will warmly greet members, assist with registrations, process payments, and help maintain a clean, organized sports center environment.

This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, teamwork with clubhouse and hospitality staff, and flexibility to cover shifts including holidays. Pre-employment CPR/First Aid can be required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and cash handling.
• Ability to string tennis racquets and perform light shop duties.
• Professional, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Availability for Tuesday 4pm-8:30pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You’ll work temp between the following hours:

• Tuesdays 4pm-8:30pm & Saturdays 8am-1pm.
• Must be available holidays as needed.
• With some flexibility to cover other days/shifts as needed.

Customer service will be your top priority as our Sports Center Attendant! You'll be the friendly and helpful person who assists members with whatever they need and maintains a neat, organized activity area. Every day looks a little different, but you can expect to:

• Warmly greet guests, answer questions, collect payments, and process registrations while providing excellent customer service
• Complete daily operations tasks promptly, including stringing tennis racquets and cleaning around the shop
• Monitor facility access and ensure all guests comply with rules and regulations
• Stay informed about our programs, schedules, and facility policies and share this information with members in person, over the phone, and through email
• Collaborate with clubhouse staff, the hospitality department, and other teams to ensure total member satisfaction

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

GENERAL SPORTS CENTER ATTENDANT REQUIREMENTS:

• 16+ years old
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications OR ability to obtain them within 60 days of hire
• Professional experience with recordkeeping, cash handling, sales, merchandising, or tennis operations
• Friendly, approachable, and welcoming demeanor
• Customer service mindset with excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Multi-tasking skills

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Ability to actively listen to guests and understand their needs
• Ability to empathetically, patiently, and professionally address member concerns and resolve problems
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Comfort with escalating issues to management when necessary
• Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment (phones, printers, computers, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

PREFERRED CRITERIA:

• High school degree or equivalent
• Country club experience
• Professional customer service experience
