Job summary

Austin Country Club in Austin, TX is seeking a friendly, customer-focused temp Sports Center Attendant to greet members, assist with services, and maintain a welcoming activity area.

You’ll support the clubhouse with daily operations, process registrations, handle payments, and coordinate with staff to ensure a top-notch member experience. This is a part-time, on-site role with competitive hourly pay and perks.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
• Professional experience in customer service or related roles
• Friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Excellent communication skills
• Multi-tasking ability

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests, answer questions, collect payments, and process registrations while providing excellent customer service
• Complete daily operations tasks promptly, including stringing tennis racquets and cleaning around the shop
• Monitor facility access and ensure all guests comply with rules and regulations
• Stay informed about programs, schedules, and facility policies and share this information with members in person, over the phone, and through email
• Collaborate with clubhouse staff, the hospitality department, and other teams to ensure total member satisfaction

WHAT TO EXPECT

You’ll work temp between the following hours:

• Tuesdays 4pm-8:30pm & Saturdays 8am-1pm.
• Must be available holidays as needed.
• With some flexibility to cover other days/shifts as needed.

Customer service will be your top priority as our Sports Center Attendant! You'll be the friendly and helpful person who assists members with whatever they need and maintains a neat, organized activity area. Every day looks a little different, but you can expect to:

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

GENERAL SPORTS CENTER ATTENDANT REQUIREMENTS:

• 16+ years old
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications OR ability to obtain them within 60 days of hire
• Professional experience with recordkeeping, cash handling, sales, merchandising, or tennis operations
• Friendly, approachable, and welcoming demeanor
• Customer service mindset with excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Multi-tasking skills

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Ability to actively listen to guests and understand their needs
• Ability to empathetically, patiently, and professionally address member concerns and resolve problems
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Comfort with escalating issues to management when necessary
• Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment (phones, printers, computers, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

PREFERRED CRITERIA:

• High school degree or equivalent
• Country club experience
• Professional customer service experience
