Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking an accomplished cardiologist to direct the Sports Cardiology Program within The Heart Institute. The role encompasses leadership of clinical services, advanced imaging, and collaboration with orthopedic and athletic program teams.

The successful candidate will balance inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, mentor fellows, and advance academic activities aligned with career goals in a premier university medical center on Long Island.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or MD/PhD with board certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular disease; sports cardiology training.
• Proven ability to teach, mentor fellows and residents; lead a clinical service.
• Preferred certification in echocardiography, cardiac CT/MRI or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Sports Cardiology Program within the Heart Institute.
• Deliver outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care for athletes and active individuals; manage complex imaging and ECG cases.
• Mentor fellows and collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, primary care, neurology and athletic program leadership.
