Job summary

i9 Sports in Richmond, VA is seeking a Sports Instructor to manage an assigned field or court and deliver a fun, safe, and well‑organized experience for all participants.

In this role you will support volunteer coaches with practices and games, engage with families, and model i9 Sports core values—fun, safety, and good sportsmanship—while guiding youth development. This position offers hands-on coaching experience and a pathway to leadership within the organization.

Qualifications

• Energetic, reliable, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working with children ages 3–15.
• Ability to work weekends.
• Interest in sports, coaching, or youth development preferred.
• Experience working with children or in team environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of an assigned field or court, ensuring a safe, organized, and positive environment
• Support volunteer coaches with practices, drills, and game management
• Ensure all practices and games start and end on time
• Set up and break down fields/courts, ensuring equipment is safe and ready for play
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for players, coaches, and parents
• Promote and model i9 Sports core values: fun, safety, and good sportsmanship
• Provide guidance and encouragement to volunteer coaches throughout the day
• Help create a low-pressure, instructional environment focused on player development
• Monitor gameplay to ensure safety and fairness
• Communicate with the Site Manager regarding any issues or updates

Job Summary
