Job summary

Portland State University seeks a Departmental Research Administrator to partner with faculty and research teams in administering sponsored projects. This role focuses on post-award management, budget monitoring, rebudgeting, effort coordination, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements.

The DRA collaborates with Principal Investigators, departmental staff, and SPA colleagues to support award implementation and transitions throughout the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of related experience.
• Ability to interpret sponsor, institutional, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience coordinating multiple priorities and managing complex workflows.
• Ability to communicate complex policies and financial concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Serve as financial partner for post-award management of sponsored projects.
• Support award implementation, financial monitoring, rebudgeting, and forecasting.
• Prepare reports and manage prior approvals and award closeout activities.
• Provide guidance to investigators and SPA colleagues to ensure compliance and sustainability.
