Job Description Summary

The Sponsor Support, Lead Analyst serves as a key member of the Sponsor Support Team within Enterprise’s Asset Management division and plays a critical role in monitoring and supporting the financial and organizational health of nearly 600 affordable housing organizations nationwide. The position will have direct interaction with external sponsors, investors, lenders, state agencies, and internal stakeholders to help organizations address challenges, strengthen operations, and pursue sustainable growth opportunities.

Using advanced corporate finance analysis, AI-enabled tools, and data analytics, the Lead Analyst evaluates sponsor and guarantor strength, identifies emerging risks, and develops recommendations that support long-term organizational sustainability. The role combines financial analysis, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement to help Enterprise proactively manage portfolio risk and strengthen partner capacity.

Working within a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, the Lead Analyst will assess corporate financial statements, their liquidity, leverage, cash flow, organizational capacity, governance structures, real-estate portfolios and operational performance to identify strengths, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for intervention. Findings are synthesized using various AI tools into actionable recommendations, sponsor improvement plans, and executive-level summaries, that support decision-making within Asset Management and other capital business lines.

The Lead Analyst will contribute to the development of innovative tools and processes that improve the consistency, scalability, and effectiveness of sponsor evaluations. This includes leveraging Microsoft Copilot, AI-powered workflows, Excel modeling, dashboards, and data visualization tools to automate processes, increase capacity, identify portfolio and sponsor level trends, and improve risk monitoring capabilities.

Successful candidates will possess a strong foundation in corporate finance, credit analysis, financial modeling, multi-family housing and problem-solving, combined with intellectual curiosity, a customer-service mindset, and enthusiasm for leveraging technology and AI to improve outcomes. As performance and expertise grow, opportunities will expand to include direct management of sponsor relationships, ownership of a portfolio of monitoring-stage sponsors, and leadership of strategic sponsor support initiatives.

Job Description
Responsibilities

The Sponsor Support, Lead Analyst will:

  • Develop and maintain risk-monitoring dashboards, sponsor health metrics, and portfolio analytics that identify emerging organizational, operational, and financial risks across Enterprise’s national sponsor portfolio. Utilize data visualization, trend analysis, and AI-enabled tools to support proactive decision-making.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of sponsor, guarantor, and affiliate financial statements, including assessments of liquidity, leverage, cash flow, net asset position, operational sustainability, and organizational capacity.
  • Prepare multi-year financial models, risk assessments, and organizational health evaluations that identify strengths, vulnerabilities, and leading indicators of financial or operational stress.
  • Synthesize financial, operational, governance, and market information into clear executive summaries, risk narratives, and actionable recommendations for Directors, Senior Directors, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Develop preliminary sponsor support strategies, stabilization plans, and capacity-building recommendations designed to improve organizational resilience, strengthen financial sustainability, and mitigate portfolio risk.
  • Identify portfolio-wide patterns from Real Estate Owned (REO) schedules, recurring challenges, and systemic risks and communicate findings to leadership to inform strategic planning, policy development, and resource allocation.
  • Champion the use of Microsoft Copilot, AI-enabled workflows, automation tools, and advanced Excel solutions to improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of sponsor assessments, reporting, and risk-monitoring activities.
  • Design, test, and continuously improve analytical tools, prompts, templates, dashboards, and reporting processes that enhance team productivity and improve organizational insights.
  • Coordinate internal communication throughout sponsor assessment and support activities, documenting findings, recommendations, action plans, and key decisions while ensuring consistency and accountability across stakeholder groups.
  • Engage directly with sponsor and guarantor leadership, finance teams, and external stakeholders to gather information, validate findings, and strengthen Enterprise’s understanding of organizational opportunities and challenges.
  • Support the development and refinement of sponsor risk-rating methodologies, monitoring frameworks, assessment criteria, and performance indicators used to evaluate organizational health and measure progress over time.
  • Assist in coordinating technical assistance resources, strategic interventions, and cross-functional support efforts that help sponsors address challenges and pursue sustainable growth opportunities.
  • Maintain strict compliance with Enterprise policies and procedures governing the handling, protection, and confidentiality of sensitive financial, operational, and organizational information.
  • Lead the assessment and summation of portfolio and market data from internal and external sources for contractual engagements with public entities and private contractors.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Sponsor Support policies, procedures, analytical frameworks, and best practices to improve organizational effectiveness and portfolio outcomes.
  • Address other tasks, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Corporate finance
    • Commercial banking
    • Credit underwriting
    • Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
    • Investment analysisManagement consulting
    • Risk management
    • Affordable housing finance or real estate finance
  • Advanced proficiency in financial statement analysis, including evaluation of liquidity, cash flow, leverage, profitability, net asset position, and organizational financial health.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial modeling, trend analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessments using advanced Excel skills and other analytical tools.
  • Experience synthesizing complex financial, operational, and organizational information into concise recommendations for executive-level audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities, coordinate complex projects, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and senior organizational leaders.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity, professional judgment, integrity, and accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an investigative mindset with the ability to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities that may not be readily apparent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, automation platforms, large language models (LLMs), or similar analytical solutions to improve business processes and decision-making.
  • Experience developing dashboards, visualizations, reports, prompts, workflows, or analytical tools that improve operational efficiency and organizational insights.
  • Knowledge of credit analysis methodologies, risk-rating frameworks, portfolio monitoring practices, or organizational health assessments.
  • Experience evaluating nonprofit organizations, affordable housing developers, community development organizations, or mission-driven enterprises.
  • Knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs, affordable housing finance, multifamily housing operations, real estate feasibility analysis, or community development finance.
  • Experience working with large datasets to identify emerging trends, portfolio risks, and strategic opportunities.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving processes, implementing innovative solutions, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel periodically to attend sponsor meetings, project site visits, conferences, and team meetings as needed.
  • Ability to conduct onsite assessments at multifamily housing properties and organizational offices, including occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction environments, and active project sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel independently.
Salary Transparency

Enterprise offers a comprehensive total rewards package for you and your family. The pay range for this position is $85,000 – $98,000. The salary range represents the low and high end of what may be paid for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range, and compensation decisions may be influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
