The role involves working at an MUFG office or client sites four days a week, with one remote day. More details will be provided by our recruitment team.

Job Summary:

Overall Purpose: To evaluate and underwrite Direct Loans and other credit exposures to Private Equity owned, non-investment grade borrowers, ranging from middle market to large corporates within the Sponsor Finance & Direct Lending business unit. Support the Originations team and Syndication strategies. Manage credit monitoring and borrower relationships.

Primarily a corporate finance role focusing on transaction diligence, structuring, credit analysis, and recommendations. Key functions include risk assessment, structuring, pricing, and active credit management to maximize bank income and minimize credit costs.

Responsibilities:
  • Credit analysis, recommendations, and transaction management within the Sponsor/Direct Lending unit.
  • Conduct due diligence on new transactions and evaluate existing loan portfolios.
  • Structure and negotiate terms and credit agreements with sponsor-owned borrowers.
  • Prepare detailed credit analyses and applications, evaluating risks, financials, and industry factors.
  • Support sponsor coverage team’s client idea generation and attend client meetings.
  • Assist with syndication strategies, including lender presentations and coordination.
  • Communicate account information across organizational levels.
  • Maintain industry knowledge relevant to the portfolio.
  • Oversee facility closing procedures and documentation.
Advanced Client Solutions:
  • Collaborate within deal teams supporting financing structures and strategies.
  • Assist with credit analysis for structured transactions like derivatives, securitizations, and supply chain finance.
  • Stay informed on industry and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in client and bank meetings as needed.
Policy and Transaction Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with credit approval divisions to align risk strategies.
  • Establish appropriate transaction ratings and exposure levels.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree; CFA or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years in financial institutions or related credit risk analysis.
  • Strong accounting and corporate finance knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

The typical base salary range is $200K - $230K, depending on experience and location. Additional bonuses and comprehensive benefits are offered. For more details, refer to our Total Rewards program.
