Job summary

Unify Community Health, Northeast in Spokane, WA, is seeking a Part-Time Dental Assistant to support providers, manage X-rays, and assist in infection control. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and education during visits.

The position includes EPIC EMR literacy, potential bilingual differential compensation, and a pathway to contribute to a large community health mission in the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Registration as Surgical Technologist if assisting a Dentist in the operating room.
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Arabic/Dari) preferred at a level 10.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and update medical history and vital signs.
• Conduct complete patient X-ray procedures and store X-rays in the electronic dental record.
• Set up and record periodontal charting per Provider's instruction.
• Prepare and set up instruments and equipment for patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection control in mind to avoid cross-contamination.
• Perform preventative periodontal care including polishing, fluoride, and sealants.
• Start and monitor nitrous oxide analgesia under Provider supervision.
• Provide oral hygiene education to patients and school-based programs.
• Support infection control program: sterilization, autoclave, and operatory cleaning.
• Assist in Orthodontics as needed: records, bite registrations, models, retainers, ligature ties.
• Perform duties per Joint Commission, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
