United Wholesale Mortgage seeks a Collections Leader to oversee the Collections and SPOC Teams at our Pontiac, MI headquarters. This senior role demands strategic leadership, a customer-focused approach, and deep expertise in mortgage servicing with a strong track record in collections and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes developing effective delinquency management, repayment strategies, and recovery efforts while ensuring adherence to FDCPA and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in mortgage servicing with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing collections or similar portfolios.
• NMLS licensing is strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations, including FDCPA and related laws.
• Proven track record in managing and optimizing collections processes, delinquency management, and recovery efforts.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills; ability to act on complex data.
• Ability to collaborate with legal, compliance, risk management, and customer service teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Collections and SPOC Teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize collections processes and recovery efforts.
• Oversee policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collections operations.
• Monitor KPIs and report performance; identify areas for improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as primary point of contact for escalated collections issues and guidance.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain best practices.
• Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning within the team.
