Job summary

The JPB Foundation seeks a Senior Program Officer for Movement Infrastructure & Explorations. The SPO will develop, implement, and communicate strategies to accelerate impact in movement work, collaborating with funders, partners, and grantees to identify opportunities for collaboration and capacity building.

The ideal candidate brings five+ years in community organizing or related fields, with at least two years in leadership and a deep commitment to social justice and strategic capacity

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in community organizing, campaigns, power-building, or community engagement.
• At least two of those years managing and leading others.
• Deep understanding of movement strategy, infrastructure, and capacity.
• Trusting relationships with movement leaders and commitment to social justice.
• Excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and communicate program strategies to accelerate impact.
• Build relationships with funders, partners, grantees, and prepare opportunities for funder collaborations.
• Manage grants and support grantees' needs.
• Promote JPB’s mission and values with internal and external partners.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and synthesize information to inform strategy.

SPO - Movement Infrastructure & Explorations

TheJPBFoundation(JPB)seeksnominationsandapplicationsforthepositionofSeniorProgramOfficer,MovementInfrastructure&Explorations(MIE).

Joiningtheteamatanexcitingtimeofstrategicdevelopmentandteamgrowth,theSeniorProgramOfficer(SPO)willworkcollaborativelytodevelop,implement,andcommunicateprogramstrategiesthataccelerateJPB’simpactonmovementinfrastructureandinnovationsinintegratedwaystosupportallofJPB’sprogramareas.TheSPOwillbuildrelationshipsandelevateJPB’sleadershipamongotherfundersandpartnerorganizationstomovefundsalignedwithJPB’smissionandtoidentifyopportunitiesforfundercollaboratives.Theywillbuildrelationshipswithgranteesandseekoutnewgrantees,managegrantsandserveasapartnerforgranteeneedsandrequeststhatenhanceandbuilduponfinancialsupport,suchasconveningspaces,jointstrategizing,ororganizationalandleadershipdevelopmentopportunities.Theywillstayabreastofemergingtrendsandsynthesizeinformationtoinformstrategy.TheSPOwillworkacrosstheJPBteamtoensureintegrationandcoordinationwithinternalandexternalpartnerstosharelearningsandinsights.Inallofthiswork,theSPOwillpromotethemission,visionandvaluesoftheFoundationthroughrelationshipswithfunders,partners,andcurrentandpotentialgrantees.

Theidealcandidatewillbringatleastfiveyearsofexperienceincommunityorganizing,campaigns,powerbuildingorcommunityengagement,withatleasttwo(2)ofthoseyearsmanagingandleadingothersinthatwork.TheyWillbringadeepunderstandingofmovementstrategy,infrastructure,andcapacity,andhavetrustingrelationshipswithmovementleadersandadeepcommitmenttosocialjusticeandpowerbuilding.TheyWillbeastrategist,excellentmanagerofworkandprogresstowardsgoals,curiousandlearningoriented,andanorganizerandconvenerofothers(bynatureorexperience).TheyWillbeanexcellentcommunicator,solutionsanddetail-oriented,andenjoybothindependentworkandclosecollaboration.Theidealcandidatewillbuildtrustingandcaringrelationships,havesoundjudgementandintegrity,andbeadaptableandflexibleandabletosupportagrowingteamtothriveinthisexcitingtimeofexpansionfortheFoundation.
