Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Field Coax Splicer in Gadsden, AL. You will perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Responsibilities include testing, activating, and troubleshooting after installation, documenting work in daily production reports, and maintaining accurate material usage records. A valid driver's license and passing a DOT physical are required.

Qualifikationen

• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year in telecommunications.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical for medical clearance.
• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• Pole climber certification preferred.

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground

• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles
