This Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) role sits inside Spirit AeroSystems’ Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”), an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace built on innovative engineering and rapid prototyping. You’ll operate multi-axis automated ultrasonic systems in a repair-station environment, verifying parts and processes against customer engineering requirements using ultrasonic and eddy current methods. This is a technically demanding, Level A inspection role with real ownership: you’ll assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment, and staff, establish inspection techniques from approved procedures, and provide guidance to trainees. Spirit AeroSystems is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, adding Boeing-backed scale to an already established Wichita, Kansas defense and space manufacturing site.
Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, market conditions, and business considerations. Summary pay range is $25.09/hour, with potential to earn up to $43.13/hour, in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement. This is a union-represented position with structured wage progression.
