MedStar Health in the Washington DC metropolitan area seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Orthopedic Spine Surgery team and work with Dr. David A. Weiner.

The role combines outpatient clinic care and first-assist duties in the OR, primarily based in Brandywine, MD with additional clinic coverage in Lorton, VA. This full-time position offers Monday–Friday 8-hour shifts, no weekends, no nights, or holidays, and opportunities to work with an experienced spine surgeon in a

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current PA or NP certification and licensure.
• Orthopedic/spine experience preferred.
• NP candidates must have First Assist/RNFA certification.
• New graduates with strong orthopedic experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new patients.
• Evaluate established and post-operative patients.
• Conduct independent clinic visits.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate patient care.
• Provide follow-up care for spine patients.
• First assist in orthopedic spine surgery.
• Work closely with Dr. Weiner in the operating room.
• Support surgical procedures and perioperative patient care.
