Job summary

VB Spine seeks a Spine Specialist to provide clinical surgical coverage and sales support across a designated territory. You will represent spine procedures to surgeons, nurses, and sales teams, and ensure efficient instrument handling and documentation.

The role requires clinical experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel. Compensation is competitive with benefits and growth opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college preferred.
• Surgical Technologist certificate or nursing degree preferred.
• Three years’ experience in a clinical/OR environment preferred.
• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel within territory as directed.

Responsibilities

• Represent and cover Spine surgical cases professionally, efficiently and effectively.
• Explain proper use of surgical instruments and implants to surgeons and nurses.
• Process instrument sets and paperwork efficiently and promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of instruments, implants, techniques and procedures.
• Inform Sales Representatives and Regional Manager of territory happenings regularly.
• Provide support to territory as needed by Sales team.
• Monitor competitive activity and gather market information.
• Manage and maintain inventory.
• Attend sales meetings, trainings, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
• Assist in Local, Regional and National Medical Education events.
• Submit required reports accurately and timely.

As a Spine Specialist, you’ll be responsible for clinical surgical coverage and sales support activities of VB Spine customers in a designated area.

What You'll Do:

• Represent and cover Spine surgical cases professionally, efficiently and effectively.
• Able to succinctly articulate the proper use of surgical instruments and implants to surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives.
• Process instrument sets and paperwork efficiently and promptly
• Maintain a high and increasing knowledge of our instruments, implants, surgical techniques, and procedures.
• Keep Sales Representative(s) and Regional Manager informed of territory happenings and progress on a regular basis.
• Provide support to territory as needed by Sales Representative and Sales Manager.
• Remains informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers; monitors and gathers information on competitive activity.
• Manage and maintain inventory.
• Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
• Assist in execution of Local, Regional and National Medical Education events.
• Complete all required and requested reports correctly and submit in a timely matter.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year accredited college or university, preferred.
• Surgical Technologist certificate or nursing degree, preferred.
• Mastery of spinal anatomy and anatomical landmarks necessary to instruct a surgeon on the use of VB Spine products.
• Three (3) years’ experience in a clinical and/or operating room environment, preferred
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop and maintain relationships.
• Strong team player with the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to travel to all accounts within assigned territory, as directed by Sales Manager.
• Must be able to lift and carry multiple surgical trays (minimum 24 lbs).
• Must be available on 24-hour per day basis, to respond to customer emergencies.
• This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids. In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, VB Spine will provide a safe working environment for all employees.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The vision requirements include: close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Compensation:

Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like territory requirements, qualifications, and performance taken into account. The typical pay range for this position is $85,000 – $110,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits.

VB Spine reserves the right to offer compensation outside of this listed range. Final compensation is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and considers a variety of factors including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
