Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Spine Surgeon to join a collaborative orthopedic team within the MGO and ESA networks. The role focuses on core spine procedures with a target of 300–400 cases per year, while expanding a high-volume community spine service.

The candidate will work within a growing regional spine program, with potential duties in general orthopedics and on-call coverage as the practice scales, and opportunities to refer more complex cases to Emory in Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Valid and unrestricted Georgia medical license.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified preferred.
• DEA certificate required.
• Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Perform core spine surgical procedures with an anticipated volume of 300–400 spine procedures annually.
• Develop a busy spine practice within a community-based orthopedic team.
• Collaborate with Emory's orthopedic team; refer complex cases to Emory in Atlanta.
• Participate in general orthopedic call as needed while spine and general orthopedics evolve as the practice grows.

Job description

This position offers the opportunity to join Emory's orthopedic team as part of MGO and ESA in a collaborative, community-based practice. Due to strong patient demand, there is an immediate opportunity to build a busy, high-volume hand practice while expanding access to specialty care in the region.

Spine Surgeon

Focus primarily on core spine surgical procedures with an anticipated surgical volume of 300-400 spine procedures annually and significant opportunity for continued growth. You'll treat a broad range of degenerative, traumatic, and elective spine conditions while building a thriving referral base. More complex tertiary and quaternary cases will continue to be referred to Emory in Atlanta, allowing you to focus on developing a strong community-based spine practice. As part of the orthopedic team, there may also be some general orthopedic call and coverage responsibilities, with the balance of spine and general orthopedics evolving as the practice continues to grow.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a Doctor of Medicine Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.). Must hold a valid and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia. Board Eligible or Board Certified preferred. Hold a valid DEA certificate without restriction. Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be computer literate.
