Job summary

The Spine Institute of Central Florida seeks a Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care alongside orthopaedic spine surgeons. You will perform comprehensive exams, interpret imaging, and develop treatment plans in a fast-paced setting across Polk and Hillsborough counties.

Responsibilities include hospital consults, rounding, surgical first assisting, and pre/post-operative visits with documentation in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Current Physician Assistant Certification and Florida PA license or eligibility.
• Experience in orthopedics, neurosurgery, pain management, or spine care.
• Proficiency in histories, exams, imaging interpretation, and evidence-based treatment plans.
• Strong patient education, counseling on procedures and rehabilitation, with clear communication.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and standard clinical workflows.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s PA program; BLS/ACLS preferred.
• Willingness to ongoing education and spine procedure training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with orthopaedic spine surgeons.
• Conduct comprehensive orthopaedic exams and interpret imaging/results.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with supervising surgeons and anesthesia/pain management physicians.
• Hospital consultations, rounding, surgical first assisting.
• Pre- and post-operative visits and minor in-office procedures.
• Document encounters in the medical record.
