Job summary

Pinnacle Fertility is seeking a Sperm Bank Operations Director to lead the daily operations of our national donor sperm program. You will recruit donors, screen candidates, manage cryopreservation, and ensure strict regulatory compliance across FDA, CLIA, CAP, and tissue banking standards.

Location is onsite in Arizona; the role requires organizational excellence, attention to detail, and strong collaboration with lab, clinical, and administrative teams to maintain high-quality, confidential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in sperm bank, gamete banking, or related clinical settings preferred.
  • Experience with cryopreservation, inventory systems, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of the national donor sperm bank.
  • Recruit, screen, and coordinate sperm donor candidates.
  • Onboard donors and maintain accurate donor records.
  • Process semen samples and perform cryopreservation per protocols.
  • Manage inventory, labeling, storage, and chain-of-custody.
  • Coordinate shipments with labs and clinics.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation.
  • Maintain electronic and physical records.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, CLIA, CAP, OSHA and tissue banking rules.
  • Support QA initiatives, audits, and process improvements.
  • Handle shipping containers up to 35 pounds.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and donor information.
  • Collaborate with laboratory, clinical, and admin teams.

About the Role

The Sperm Bank Operations Director is responsible for supporting the operational, administrative, and logistical functions of the sperm bank program, including donor recruitment and screening, specimen collection and cryopreservation, inventory management, shipment coordination, documentation, and regulatory compliance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and prior experience in fertility, andrology, or gamete banking environments.

We are seeking a Sperm Bank Operations Director to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility. Candidates located in Arizona or near any Pinnacle Fertility clinic will be required to work onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in operationalizing and supporting the day-to-day functions of a national donor sperm bank
  • Recruit, screen, and coordinate prospective sperm donor candidates
  • Coordinate donor onboarding and maintain accurate donor records and documentation
  • Perform semen sample processing and cryopreservation activities in accordance with established protocols
  • Manage specimen inventory, labeling, storage, and chain-of-custody procedures
  • Coordinate outbound and inbound frozen sperm shipments with external laboratories and clinics
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation and ensure accuracy of all required paperwork
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical recordkeeping systems
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, FDA, CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and tissue banking regulations, standards, and internal quality protocols
  • Support quality assurance initiatives, audits, and process improvement activities
  • Prepare, handle, and transport shipping containers weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive patient and donor information
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory, clinical, and administrative teams
  • Perform additional operational and administrative duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Prior sperm bank or gamete banking experience.
    • Experience with cryopreservation techniques and laboratory inventory systems.
    • Familiarity with FDA donor eligibility requirements and reproductive tissue banking regulation.
    • Experience supporting compliance, quality assurance, or laboratory accreditation activities.
    • Prior fertility, reproductive medicine, andrology, tissue banking, or related healthcare experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
