Location: Hempstead, New York

Position: Speech Therapist (SLP)

Shift: Full Time

Pay Rate: $60.00 - $67.00 per hour

Are you an experienced Speech Therapist (SLP) with a passion for helping others? Join the Nassau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center team in Hempstead, New York, and make a difference in the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate to acquire adaptive communication devices and provide instruction to residents on their use.
• Tailor therapy activities to individual residents based on their physical, mental, and cognitive abilities.
• Work closely with the rehabilitation team to develop personalized therapeutic regimens.
• Instruct residents in techniques for effective communication, regularly assessing progress and adjusting therapy.
• Adapt therapy programs to meet the changing needs of each resident.
• Actively participate in care meetings and contribute to the facility's care and staffing decisions.
• Lead training programs for staff and supervise support personnel in line with state and professional standards.
• Provide compassionate care and ensure residents’ rights and needs are respected.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in New York.
• Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Nursing Home Experience Preferred.
• Experience with NetHealth and Sigma preferred.
