Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient needs related to speech and language disorders, including communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate patient function levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests and assist physicians in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Treat patients to improve communication effectiveness based on their condition, following accepted standards of practice.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on speech therapy interventions.

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Current licensure in Speech Therapy in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle
