Job summary

Apploi in Topeka, KS seeks a compassionate Speech Therapist to provide comprehensive therapy for residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will focus on speech, language, swallowing and cognitive goals, with sign-on bonus for full-time hire.

Experience in long-term care is preferred, and licensure must be current in the state. You will evaluate, treat, document progress and collaborate with physicians and families to enhance communication and swallowing safety for residents.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
• Current state licensure in the state practicing.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
• Effective communication with residents, families, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of patient care, including evaluation and treatment and documentation.
• Provide therapy for speech, language, hearing, swallowing and cognitive disorders.
• Plan activities and deliver services for speech and language disorders.
• Act as a rehabilitation advocate and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals aligned to physician orders.
