Job summary

Pro Rehab in Boone, IA is seeking a Speech Therapist to join our Westhaven location as a PRN/on-call role with no productivity requirements. Wage range is $45-$60 per hour, depending on experience, with a minimum availability of 6 hours per month.

The role involves assessing communication disorders, developing personalized treatment plans, providing therapy, educating patients and families, and coordinating with healthcare teams at our Boone site.

Qualifications

• Must have a graduate from an Accredited Speech Therapy Program.
• Must possess a current MN Speech Therapist License.
• Knowledge of Home Health care regulations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients and families.
• Ability to develop and discharge planning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assess & Diagnose Communication Disorders: evaluate needs such as speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing.
• Develop & Implement Treatment Plans: create personalized therapy programs.
• Provide Speech & Language Therapy: conduct exercises and interventions.
• Educate & Support Patients & Families: teach strategies for effective communication.
• Monitor Progress & Adjust Treatment: track improvements and modify plans.
• Collaborate with Healthcare & Education Teams: work with doctors, teachers, therapists.

Speech Therapist Responsibilities:

• Assess & Diagnose Communication Disorders:Evaluate patient needs and deficits such as but not limited to: patients with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing difficulties.
• Develop & Implement Treatment Plans:Create personalized therapy programs to improve the functional deficits of the patient.
• Provide Speech & Language Therapy:Conduct exercises and interventions to improve communication and speech abilities.
• Educate & Support Patients & Families:Teach strategies for effective communication and techniques to improve daily life.
• Monitor Progress & Adjust Treatment:Track patient improvements, document progress, and modify therapy plans as needed.
• Collaborate with Healthcare & Education Teams:Work with doctors, teachers, and therapists to ensure comprehensive support for patients.

Speech Therapist Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate from an Accredited Speech Therapy Program and have a bachelor’s degree.
• Must possess a current accredited MN Speech Therapist License.
• Must possess strong knowledge regarding state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to Home Health care.
• Develop care plans and discharge planning strategies for optimal patient recovery.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and personalized treatment plans.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills to educate patients and their families on therapy techniques and home care practices.
• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
