Job summary

Bristol Hospital Group is looking for a per diem Speech Therapist to provide assessment and therapy services in the home care setting for patients in the Bristol, CT area. Job Description

We are seeking a per diem Speech Therapist to provide assessment, treatment planning, and therapy services in the home care setting for patients in the greater Bristol, CT area.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs for Speech Therapy and related therapeutic services.
• Develop treatment plans and therapy goals in consultation with the treatment team.
• Conduct therapy programs designed to improve functioning and enhance patients’ well‑being.
• All start of care responsibilities are conducted by our Nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy.
• At least 1+ years of experience in Speech Therapy.
• Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills.

State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements

• Current Connecticut Licensure.
• State required CEU’s.
• Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Willingness to be fingerprinted for the CMS database system in Connecticut.

Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements

• General orientation at time of hire.
• Fire, safety, and infection control annually.
• Other programs as mandated by the Hospital.
• CPR annually.

Special Requirements

• Must have a car to drive to home visits.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license in good standing.
• $100,000‑$300,000 automobile liability insurance.

Physical Requirements

• Provides direct patient care to patients.

Work Environment

• Occasional exposure to body fluids and hazardous chemicals.
• Exposure to stressful situations.
• Personal contact with varied levels of customers in the home setting.
