Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to diagnose, evaluate, and treat patients prescribed by a licensed physician.

You will provide speech and language treatments, assess swallow disorders, and analyze test results to determine therapy needs. A Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and California licensure are required, with a current BLS certificate preferred. UHS offers a rewarding environment and career development.

Qualifications

• Active California licensure to practice speech-language pathology.
• Current BLS Certificate preferred.
• Experience in acute hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Description:

Responsible for the diagnostic, evaluative, and therapeutic procedures for the treatment of those disabled by illness or injury when prescribed by a licensed physician. Provides speech and language treatments to patients.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• One year work experience in the acute hospital setting preferred.
• Experience in diagnosing and treating swallow disorders.
• Ability to analyze test results to determine patients’ communicative abilities and to determine necessary therapy.
• Completion of Master’s Degree required in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.
• License to practice speech pathology by the California State Board of Medical Examiners and Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA) or a RPE/CFY applicant supervised by licensed Speech Pathologist following State and ASHA guidelines
• Current BLS Certificate required.
