Job summary

Delaware Oaks Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Buffalo, NY seeks a Speech Therapist to evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders in residents.

You will provide training to families and caregivers, adapt programs to residents' needs, supervise supportive personnel, and participate in staff education on speech therapy techniques.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Speech Therapy.
• Active NYS license and credentials.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.
• Communicate with patients to evaluate speech or language difficulties.
• Adapt programs according to residents' needs.
• Supervise supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards.
• Conduct training programs for medical, nursing and other personnel in speech therapy techniques.
• Ensure residents and families receive high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere.

As a Speech Therapist, you are to:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders
• Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals
• Communicate with patients to evaluate their level of speech or language difficulty
• Adapt programs according to the needs of the resident
• Supervise supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards
• Conduct training programs and participate in training medical, nursing and other personnel in speech therapy techniques
• Ensure the residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognized the individuals’ needs and rights

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Therapy
• Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility ( preferred )
• Valid NYS License and Credentials
