The Speech Therapist assumes primary responsibility for evaluating patients, planning, implementing, supervising, reevaluating, and modifying treatment programs. The therapist maintains accurate records, documents progress reports, and provides patient education. Additionally, the therapist supervises support staff and students as assigned.
Education: Master's degree in Speech Therapy/Communication Disorders from an accredited institution. ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology or eligibility to begin CFY with successful completion of the national exam. Alabama licensure in Speech Pathology or pending licensure upon CFY completion. BCLS certification required within the orientation period.
Experience: Preferably, clinical experience working with adults with speech, language, swallowing, or voice disorders, and training or experience with Modified Barium Swallows and operation of Videostroboscopic equipment.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills and the ability and willingness to work with all patients in a fast-paced environment.
