Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient needs related to speech and language disorders, as well as functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team
• Evaluate patient function levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests, and assist physicians in developing the therapy plan of care
• Treat patients to improve communication, expression of thoughts, and other speech functions
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on speech therapy practices and participation

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current license to practice Speech Therapy in Florida
• CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle or public transportation
