Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient needs related to speech and language disorders, as well as training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by Florida state laws, following the plan of care, and coordinating with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate patients' functional levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests. Assist physicians in developing therapy plans.
• Treat patients to improve communication, expressing thoughts effectively according to their condition, following accepted standards of practice.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on speech therapy areas to enable participation.

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Current license to practice Speech Therapy in Florida
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
