Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient needs related to speech and language disorders, communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team
• Evaluate patients' functional levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests and assist physicians in developing therapy plans
• Treat patients to improve communication, expression, and related functions according to accepted standards
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on speech therapy interventions

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Must be currently licensed in Florida
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
