Job summary

Legacy Kids Inc. is hiring licensed speech-language pathologists for in-home early intervention across Long Island and New York City. Job description

Legacy Kids Inc. is hiring licensed speech-language pathologists for in-home early intervention across Long Island and New York City. You carry a caseload of infants and toddlers from birth to age three, working one on one in the family's home on communication, language and feeding, and coaching parents to carry the work into their everyday routines.

In a typical week

• Open up the foundations of communication: eye contact, gestures, joint attention, first sounds and first words.
• Grow what a toddler understands and what they can say, so they can follow a request and ask for what they want.
• Shape speech sounds and intelligibility as vocabulary expands and strangers start needing to understand the child.
• Take on feeding and swallowing: new textures, cup and utensil skills and mealtimes that stay calm and safe.
• Bring in augmentative and alternative communication when a child needs a bridge to spoken words.
• Set measurable outcomes on the Individualized Family Service Plan and record progress at every visit.
• Teach the caregiver the strategy, so the practice keeps going on the days you are not there.

Credentials

A current New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology. You do not need a New York State Department of Health Early Intervention approval letter to apply, and new graduates are welcome.

How we work together

Pay begins at $58 a session and climbs with experience, and if you are moving from another agency we will match what you earn there now. You decide whether to join on a W-2 or as a 1099 contractor. The schedule is yours to build and the caseload is yours to size, from a few contract sessions to a full week. Documentation is entirely digital and billing never lands on your desk.

Territory

Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island. Tell us which towns suit you. We are based in Amityville, NY 11701; every session takes place in the family's home.
