Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide therapy services under supervision and contribute to department initiatives in Santa Rosa, CA. The role emphasizes mentorship, clinical instruction, and program development within our partnership environment.

The incumbent will partner with leadership to support staff development, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and participate in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Speech Language Pathologist after attaining your certificate of clinical competence.
  • Graduate of an accredited speech language pathology curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree with certification in Speech Language Pathology or foreign trained equivalent.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) required at hire
  • Basic Life Support
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire
  • Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate required at hire from ASHA
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • ASHA certified mentor preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Speech Therapists I job summary and responsibilities.
  • Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
  • Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
  • Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
  • Provides consultation to staff.
  • May act as a mentor for staff.
  • May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
  • Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
  • May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
  • Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
  • May be involved in the clinical competency of SLP Assistants and Rehab Aides.
  • May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
  • Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.
