The position requires licensure in Speech Therapy in the state of residence, a valid driver's license, and CPR certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
• Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• CPR certification (preferred) or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Availability to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing speech therapy, in accordance with the plan of care and in coordination with the health care team.
• Evaluates the patient's level of function using diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests and assists the physician in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Treats patients to communicate effectively by expressing thoughts according to the patient's condition using acceptable standards of practice.
• Observes, records, and reports to the supervising nurse and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes in condition.
• Instructs the patient, family and/or caregiver and other health care team members in speech therapy areas they can participate in.
