Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health assesses and evaluates patient needs related to speech and language disorders, communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, according to the plan of care, in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates patients' functional levels using diagnostic tests and assists physicians in developing therapy plans.
• Treats patients to improve communication, expressing thoughts effectively based on their condition.
• Instructs patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in speech therapy areas to facilitate participation.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Must be currently licensed in Speech Therapy in Indiana
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
