Job summary

Garden City Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a part-time Day shift. The role involves evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, cognition and swallowing disorders, under physician orders, and contributing to program development within a teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications include a master’s in SLP, CCC-SLP or CF eligibility, active state licensure, hospital experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
  • Active CCC-SLP from ASHA, free of disciplinary action - OR - SLP-CF status considered with supervision.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current BLS for healthcare provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for speech, language, cognition, swallowing disorders and related services prescribed by a physician.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the department.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
  2. Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
  3. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action - OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
  4. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  5. Current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current.
