Job summary

MaineGeneral Health seeks a speech-language pathologist to evaluate and treat populations with speech-language needs in an assigned area, designing and implementing plans of care, and documenting progress.

This role educates patients and families, plans discharges, and may supervise clinical fellows and students; some duties may include driving as part of MaineGeneral Health business.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform speech/language skills.
• Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective, objective, assessment findings and plan, and patient progress.
• Educate and counsel patients and family/caregiver.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
• Provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
• Some employees in this job may operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business.
