Job summary

The Lakes Home Care is seeking a Speech Therapist Assistant to join our caring team in Florida. You will work with patients across neonatal to geriatric ages, assisting with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing therapies under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.

You will assist with assessments, implement therapy plans, document progress, and support communication strategies. Competitive salary and flexible hours are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with pediatric, adult, or geriatric populations.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to speech pathology.
• Ability to work in critical care environments.
• Proficiency in patient assessment techniques.
• Strong case management and compassionate care approach.
• Experience with standardized testing procedures.
• Previous inpatient setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in patient assessments and information gathering.
• Implement prescribed therapeutic activities and exercises.
• Provide direct patient care, monitoring, and documenting progress.
• Support development and modification of treatment plans.
• Instruct patients in exercises to improve communication skills.
• Collaborate on augmentative/alternative communication strategies.
• Communicate with patients, families and the inter-disciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interactions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss treatment plans.
