Job summary

The Lakes Home Care is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. You will support SLPs with assessments, treatment, and direct patient care across neonatal to geriatric populations.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, thorough documentation, and collaboration with families and other professionals. Ideal candidates hold current licensure or certification and have experience with diverse age groups, strong communication, and the ability to implement

Qualifications

• Experience across pediatric, adult and geriatric populations.
• Knowledge of IEPs and related education plans.
• Familiarity with medical terminology in speech pathology.
• Ability to work in critical care environments.
• Proficient in patient assessment techniques.
• Strong case management and compassionate care approach.
• Experience with standardized testing procedures.
• Previous inpatient setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in assessments and information gathering.
• Implement prescribed therapy activities under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and monitor progress during sessions.
• Assist in developing and modifying treatment plans.
• Instruct patients in exercises to improve speech and communication.
• Collaborate on augmentative and alternative communication strategies.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the care team.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress.
