Qualifications
Education:
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders
Experience:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Completion of Clinical Fellowship. After completing 3 full years/beginning of 4th
year, may be eligible for Speech Language Pathologist Level II.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Competency in performing Modified Barium Swallow Exams. Competency in
Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). Spanish Proficiency.
Certifications:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NEW GRADUATES: Possession of Intern License from the state
of Texas prior to orientation. ALL OTHERS: Possession of Texas State License and Certificate of Clinical
Competence (CCC) from American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of
hire.
