Job summary

RSU 40 is seeking a collaborative and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our special education team. This full-time, in-person position supports students across our schools, helping them develop the communication skills needed to access learning, build relationships, and succeed in school.

This role is a key part of our continuum of services, working closely with educators, clinicians, and families to support student growth and independence.

Qualifications

  • Licensed SLP in Maine; ASHA CCC-SLP preferred (CF candidates encouraged to apply).
  • Experience working with children in school or pediatric settings.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and IEP process.
  • Strong collaboration and communication with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small group speech and language therapy services.
  • Address articulation, language development, social communication, fluency, and voice needs.
  • Conduct evaluations and contribute to IEP development and goal setting.
  • Collaborate with teachers and teams to support communication across settings.
  • Provide strategies, accommodations, and supports for classroom implementation.
  • Support development of students' social communication and peer interaction skills.
  • Train and support ed techs and staff in implementing communication strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and MaineCare billing, as applicable.

RSU 40 is seeking a collaborative and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our special education team. What You\'ll Do
