Job description

Role Overview:

The Speech Therapist assesses and evaluates patients with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. They develop and implement treatment plans, perform interventions to improve patient well-being, and monitor progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy services within state practice laws and in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Assess patient function using diagnostic tests and assist in creating therapy plans
• Treat patients to improve communication and swallowing abilities according to accepted standards
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to supervisors
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members on speech therapy techniques
• Function effectively across diverse home environments and patient backgrounds

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation
• Preferred: CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), weekend availability
