Job summary

Athena Health Care Systems’ Parsons Hill Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Worcester is seeking a dynamic Speech Therapist for a combined schedule (full-time, part-time, and per diem) to assess residents, develop care plans, and provide direct treatment.

You will collaborate with the care team, document activities, and participate in ongoing education. Weekly pay up to $55/hour and comprehensive benefits support a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Speech Therapy required.
• Current licensure by the state agency.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care preferred.
• New graduates welcome; CEU's per licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients/residents; develop care plans.
• Provide direct resident treatments per established plan of care.
• Perform administrative duties: oversee care activities, medical records oversight, and supply orders.
• Consult with and train patients/residents and caregivers.
• Document activities per the clinical documentation system in a timely manner.
• Pursue ongoing learning to remain current in the field.

Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated full-time, part-time, and per diem Speech Therapist to join our team at Parsons Hill Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Worcester. As a Speech Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a positive impact on patients' lives, we encourage you to apply.

Weekly pay up to $55 an hour.

Responsibilities:

• Screens patients/residents and evaluates them, developing appropriate care plans
• Provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
• May perform additional assigned administrative duties, such as assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, and ordering supplies
• Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
• Documents activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis
• Demonstrates continuous new learning to remain current in the field

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Speech Therapy
• Current licensure by the applicable state agency
• Two (2) years of clinical experience in long-term care preferred
• CEU's per state licensure requirements
• New graduates welcome!

Specific Requirements:

• Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
• Excellent hearing and verbal skills required
• Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
• Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
