Pay | : | HK$40,220 to HK$88,971 (HGPS Point 16 to 33) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
To deliver speech therapy services appropriate to their level of competency to achieve desired health outcomes by providing current, rational, safe and cost-effective speech therapy information and services.
a) Provide assessment and treatment to patients with general communication and swallowing disorders independently.
b) Deliver speech therapy services to complicated and difficult cases under the guidance of senior speech therapists.
c) Conduct high risk procedures / specialized tests under the guidance of senior speech therapists.
d) Provide counseling / education to patients and carers to maximize the positive benefits of the delivered therapy.
e) Provide accurate, adequate and appropriate speech therapy information to patients and carers in a timely manner.
f) Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely for effective case management.
g) Participate in multi-disciplinary healthcare programmes.
a) Participate in the following activities under the direction of senior speech therapists:
Collect, organize and evaluate clinical information for management use and clinical research.
Provide educational / training and development programs for speech therapy staff and other health professionals.
Develop treatment protocols, guidelines and standards.
b) Conduct training for speech therapy students.
a) Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the speech therapy service in an institution.
b) Manage and monitor the work of supporting staff.
a) Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
b) Comply with the legal requirement, occupational safety and health requirements, established policies and practice standards in daily practice.
a) Maintain effective working relationship with other health professionals.
b) Demonstrate professional and ethical conducts in all job-related activities and compliance to legal requirements, occupational safety and health requirements, policies and practice standards.
c) Organize and prioritize work assignments to ensure optimal performance in his/her own duties.

Applicants who are expected to graduate from Master/Bachelor degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from a local university (or equivalent) in 2026 may also apply. If selected, their appointment will be subject to their having satisfied all the appointment requirements.
Preference will be given to candidates who are members of the Register of Speech Therapists accredited by the Department of Health.
Depending on service needs, selected candidate would be posted to Child Assessment Service, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH) and may be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
