TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Speech Therapist to deliver patient-centered care for communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments. You will develop and conduct individualized therapy programs, perform comprehensive assessments, and educate patients and families as part of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, administering tests, documenting progress, and collaborating with the Rehab Director to determine patient placement and goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Licensed as a Speech Therapist or Speech Pathologist.

• Administer objective tests to assess communication assets and liabilities.
• Structure and implement individualized patient therapy programs.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust therapy to maximize outcomes.
• Document progress in the patient chart, complete notes and discharge communications.
• Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screenings and consultations.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient‑centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

What you will do in this role:

• You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assess patient’s communication assets and liabilities.
• You will structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
• You will evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
• You will document progress in patient’s chart. You will complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
• You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre‑screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Masters Degree
• Speech Therapist, or Speech Pathologist
