Garden City Hospital, a Prime Healthcare facility, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognition and swallowing disorders. You will develop and implement treatment plans and contribute to program development within a teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, an active state license, and ASHA CCC-SLP or CF eligibility with supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Active license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of employment required.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification or SLP-CF considered with supervision provisions.
• At least one year of hospital-based experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required on hire.

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.

2. Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.

3. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.

4. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

5. Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
