Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders. You will plan and implement treatment under physician orders and help develop ongoing departmental programs.

Active state licensure is required, with ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or SLP-CF considered with supervision. A hospital background and BLS certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Active license to practice in the state of employment is required.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA or SLP-CF considered on a case-by-case basis with supervision.
• At least one year in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be maintained.

Responsibilities

QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
• Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
• Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
