Job summary

Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 (OPRF) seeks a Speech Team Assistant Director to support coaching and coordination of IHSA speech events. The role involves collaborating with coaches, scheduling weekly coaching times, and overseeing students at meetings and field trips.

The position is part-time during the school year, requires leadership and recruitment of diverse members, and requires attendance at about half of the competitions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or teaching students.
• Ability to recruit and maintain diverse membership.
• Knowledge/experience with IHSA Speech Tournaments.
• Experience with a competitive Speech program and the various events.
• Ability to meet sponsor expectations as stated in Student Activities Sponsor Handbook.
• Organized and have a positive attitude.
• Collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the other coaches.
• Create consistent times throughout the week to coach students on their events.
• Oversee students at all meetings and field trips/service opportunities.
• Coach and organize students for competitions.
• Attend 50% of the competitions.
• Attend sponsor meetings and meet expectations given by the Student Activities Director.
